Tom has worn a variety of hats throughout his career, chief among them are Salesman, Entrepreneur, Teacher, Developer, and Author. In his 'other than professional time' you might find him on the golf course or ski slopes, bowling or reading, flying or puttering around the house with his proud collection of tools. His interest in Microsoft Excel® began shortly after the now-famous spreadsheet giant was first introduced back in 1984. He was part of the Microsoft beta test team for Excel version 2.0 and has enjoyed growing with the program over the years. Automating Excel has always been a special interest, providing challenges and rewards. The introduction of Visual Basic for Applications with Excel version 5.0 provided a rich development arena that has continued to expand and mature since its arrival in the late nineties. Tom is as accomplished in sharing his knowledge of the Microsoft Suite as he is in applying it. A frequent guest lecturer at educational institutions such as Loyola, Northwestern, Marquette, and University of Illinois, as well as a staff instructor at several smaller accredited colleges, he earned the reputation of a sought-after mentor and friend. His written work has been distributed as far away as Australia and his development efforts have benefited some of America's largest and most well-known corporations.
