result:  Order amounts keyed daily by product category code and dollar amount into Excel/VBA form. Results reported weekly to president and plant manager for sales tracking and materials requirements projections. PC data available at least two weeks earlier than same could be produced by mainframe order-entry system.  Weekly manpower requirement after project: 30 minutes.

task:  Summarize monthly help desk responses by one of twenty-five categories. Monthly manpower requirement:  Not done prior to project.

result:  Data accumulated daily. Monthly launch of Excel/VBA analysis program reported activity by pre-determined order of importance, produced two color graphic representations of results, and summarized top five areas of activity for month.  Monthly manpower requirement after project: 20 minutes.
